FROB meets its objective of achieving a majority in Sareb

Madrid, 03/03/2022.

Royal Decree-Law 1/2022, of January 18, eliminated the limits to the participation of the State in Sareb’s capital, allowing FROB to increase its stake in the firm’s capital.

FROB made a formal offer for the entirety of their shares to all of Sareb’s private shareholders, with the aim of achieving a sufficient majority that would allow the State to exercise effective control over the management of the entity.

With the acceptances received, the FROB has already guaranteed a share of above 50%.

The procedures for the formalization of the sale will be completed during the following weeks.
