National Resolution Fund
Directive 2014/59/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 May 2014, requires that Member States establish financing mechanisms to be used for the purposes of resolution, in order to guarantee the effective application of its powers and instruments by resolution authorities.
Law 11/2015, of June 18, on the recovery and resolution of credit institutions and investment firms, transposed the aforementioned Directive, and recognized that FROB will count on the National Resolution Fund as a financing mechanism for the purpose of financing resolution measures.
The Fund is constituted as a separate group of assets, managed by FROB, without legal personality and composed by ex-ante contributions from credit institutions and investment firms under scope of Law 11/2015, as a source of ordinary financing.
