(*) In addition to the amount already recovered through BFA’s dividends to FROB distributed respectively in May 2024: €335 million (ordinary dividend charged to financial year 2023) and November 2024: €155 million (interim dividend against profit for financial year 2024), the aid injected by FROB that is definitively recovered will depend on the performance and final divestment of FROB’s stake in BFA/CaixaBank. The best estimate of FROB’s recoverable value of BFA corresponds to the sum of i) BFA’s net equity and ii) the unrealized capital gains on CaixaBank’s stake not recognized in that net equity. In this regard, the FROB’s 2024 annual accounts reflect a valuation of the stake in BFA at €8.9 billion, the sum of i) €5.5 billion in BFA’s net equity and ii) €3.4 billion in unrecognized capital gains not recognized in that net equity. To this must be added €489 million already included under Interest received and others.

(**) Within the framework of the sale and resolution processes of the financial institutions, FROB granted a series of guarantees for a maximum amount of €10.9 billion, with the aim of incentivizing the participation of the various buyers in order to maximize the sale proceeds and minimize the use of public resources. The final cost of all guarantees granted in the various divestment processes and paid out over the past few years was €2.05 billion, lower than the €2.49 billion initially estimated.
